Typography Exploration
To showcase your work a portfolio is needed, when we design our portfolio we explore a lot with typography stuff so that we could design our portfolio layout and cover pages.
With same experience I went through, when I was building my own portfolio. I did so many explorations and evolved numerous options for portfolio typeface. This experience inspired me to share it online, so that one can make use of it, if someone likes.
Text – Hollow Depth
To create this kind of typeface you have to do following step.
1.Create layer 0 type random text in random positions.
2.Create Layer 1 type your text (portfolio) in your preferred font but in white color.
3.Pick Magic Wand tool and select your text.
4.Cut and paste it in a new Layer 2.
5.Go back to layer 1 and open Layer Blending Option.
6.Click on Bevel and Emboss and select –: Style – pillow emboss; Technique – smooth; Depth – 50; Direction – down; Size – 10; Soften – 0; Shading angel – 90 degree; Altitude – 50 degree;
7.Your final design is ready now.
Text – Vertical Lines
To create this type of typeface you have to do following step.
1.Type your text in layer 1
2.Extend vertical lines of text by creating new rectangular shape upon texts like above.
3.Color each shape in you preferred choice.
4.Merge all layers.
5.Rotate the final text by 30 degree clockwise.
6.Open layer Blending option and select drop shadow.
7.Your final design is ready now.
Text – Pink Fog
To create this type of typeface you have to do following step.

1.Type your text (portfolio) in layer 1
2.Pick Magic Wand tool and select your text.
3.Press Shift + F6, set pixels 5.
4.Set background color ff99cc and foreground color cc99cc.
5.Go to Filter > Render > Clouds.
6.Press Ctr + D to deselect the selection
7.Go to filter > artistic > water color and set >Brush detail = 1, shadow = 0; Texture = 1;
8.Final image is ready now

Text – Wall Paint
To create this type of typeface you have to do following step.
1.Type your text (portfolio) in layer 1
2.Select layer 1 > Right click > Blending option > Gradient overlay > Set-: Blend mode – Normal; Opacity – 100; Gradient – your preference; Style – linear; Angle – 9 degree; Scale – 150%
3.Bevel & Emboss > Set-: Style – Inner bevel; Technique – smooth; Depth – 1; Size – 0; Soften – 0
4.Texture > Set-: Pattern – your choice; Scale – 10; Depth – -25; Tick – link with layer
5.Close blending option.
6.Select Layer 1 > Right Click > Duplicate layer > Rename it Layer 2
7.Select layer 2 > Set opacity – 50 %
8.Select layer 2 > Filter > Artistic > Dry Brush > Set-: Brush Size – 5; Brush Detail – 1; Texture – 1
9.Your final image is ready now.
